Pioneering Tissue Research in Childhood Arthritis

TRICIA is a UK-wide collaborative network advancing research into juvenile idiopathic arthritis through minimally invasive tissue sampling and cutting-edge analytics.

Steering Committee

The TRICIA Consortium Steering Committee (SC) provides independent guidance, oversight and strategic advice for the TRICIA network. It ensures that our work remains safe, ethical, inclusive, and aligned with the needs of the childhood inflammatory arthritis community.

Through expert and lay input, the SC supports TRICIA’s mission to improve health outcomes for children and young people by harnessing the power of health data and research collaboration.

Purpose of the Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is responsible for:

  • Providing independent oversight of TRICIA activities and progress

  • Advising on data governance, safety, and data sharing

  • Reviewing new project proposals seeking to use TRICIA infrastructure

  • Upholding ethical standards and promoting inclusion and equality

  • Representing the views of key stakeholder groups, including young people, families, clinicians, and researchers

Steering Committee Activities

The Committee meets twice a year and provides input on:

  • The strategic direction of TRICIA

  • Governance frameworks for safe data access and use

  • Partnership development across research and clinical sectors

  • Engagement with patients, families, and the public

The SC also reviews an annual report detailing TRICIA’s progress, challenges, and future plans.
